The task was to create a temporary space within the concrete shell of the gallery that would be comfortable in terms of acoustics, lighting, and the arrangement of seating for listening to music. After conducting acoustic measurements and consulting with acoustic engineers, several key design solutions were developed.

A suspended ceiling made of plaster acoustic panels was introduced, featuring a rising zigzag profile that visually and acoustically “embraces” the space. Along the walls, raw MDF panels with a patterned surface were installed, improving sound reflection while simultaneously defining the aesthetic character of the interior. Seating was arranged directly on the floor using traditional Kazakh mattresses, which proved to be the most effective solution acoustically while also allowing for informal and flexible seating suitable for various event formats, including lectures, album listening sessions, and live performances. On both sides of the hall—at the stage and at the entrance—the space was separated with heavy curtains that provide additional sound absorption.

In addition to the acoustic interventions, custom furniture pieces were designed in the same visual language. Inspired by the deep ruby tones of the acoustic elements, these included a table for lighting equipment and records, a DJ table, and a bar counter, completing the cohesive atmosphere of the temporary installation.
