The Six Coffee + Wine restaurant is conceived as a versatile venue that seamlessly transitions from a bustling breakfast and coffee spot in the morning to an intimate winery by evening. This transformation is enabled by a meticulously planned lighting design, which adapts to create the desired ambiance, and a flexible table arrangement that shifts effortlessly between functions. Situated in a Stalin-era historical building in the heart of Almaty, the interior design pays homage to Soviet architectural traditions. Limestone cladding, terrazzo flooring, and a bespoke stained glass window crafted by a local artisan evoke the iconic aesthetic of the period, grounding the space in its cultural and historical context. A standout feature is the gradient wall panels in the corridor, a creative collaboration between the NAAW architectural studio and local furniture manufacturer Free-Style. This installation adds a dynamic, contemporary layer to the design, juxtaposing tradition with modern touch.
