Bitanga Restaurant (Astana)

Bitanga is a modern Ukrainian restaurant. Conceptually, the main idea was to adopt an unexpected approach to interpreting national culture within the interior. From the outset, we chose not to rely on direct ethnic references, excessive ornamentation, or overtly traditional forms, avoiding a literal or “head-on” interpretation. Instead, the atmosphere is conveyed through materials, colors, and a sense of naturalness.

The color palette is inspired by the works of Ukrainian artists, while subtle references to wheat ears evoke Ukraine’s vast, endless fields. For the furniture and lighting, the design emphasizes collaboration with contemporary Ukrainian brands, reinforcing a modern cultural identity through craftsmanship and design.
